Dear Subscriber,

The FEDC Board of Directors is pleased to share the  as we approach Florida Economic Development Week. These priorities seek increased investment in customized training for 21st century skills to fill high-wage, high-skill career vacancies in targeted industries. With competitiveness as a central goal, FEDC seeks to eliminate the tax on commercial leases to enhance the resiliency of small to medium size businesses, who often bear the burden of this Florida-only tax. To protect the impact of economic development in Florida, FEDC is monitoring HB 609 and SB 1144 which repeal provisions related to local business taxes. We urge you to share these and other priorities with your local and state elected officials to diversify Florida's economy through key infrastructure and talent investments.
