Dear Subscriber,

CareerSource Florida is working to put Floridians on a path to self-sufficiency by actively supporting the Hope Florida initiative. Spearheaded by the First Lady of Florida, Casey DeSantis, Hope Florida serves single parents, individuals on government assistance, youth aging out of foster care, individuals with disabilities and their families, Florida veterans, and more.

HOW IT WORKS:

Hope Navigators are the secret sauce of the Hope Florida model. These experts work hand-in-hand with individuals to identify their unique and immediate barriers to prosperity and engage all sectors of the community to be a crucial part of the solution. Whether it’s a lack of resources, skills, or simply putting food on the table, our Hope Navigators are there to listen and help.

As part of the Hope Florida initiative, the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors approved funding to provide a Hope Navigator at each of Florida's local workforce development boards. This investment will also provide funding for job readiness skill development, career services, training, and supportive services for participants. These supportive services could include childcare and/or transportation assistance as well.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

While a major focus of this initiative is to help Floridians who need our support the most, it’s also about helping business leaders. Across the state, our growing economy and low unemployment is great news, but it also means many businesses are competing to hire and retain talent. Businesses can become “Hope Employers,” which means they are willing to identify job opportunities that consider the unique needs of Hope Florida participants, such as flexible work hours or on-the-job training.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP:

If you are a business, learn more about becoming a Hope Employer. All you need to do is to fill out an interest form. Under the Hope Florida model, you might put a single parent, a youth aging out of foster care, or a senior citizen on a path to self-sufficiency.

We look forward to receiving your interest form. For questions or more information, please contact Keri Nucatola at .
