FC 100 Releases 'Beyond Sunshine' Report |
| |
Last week after a year of socialization with various EDOs throughout the state, the Florida Council of 100 released a McKinsey & Co study titled Beyond Sunshine. Applauded by FloridaCommerce Secretary J. Alex Kelly, the report outlines an approach to business-driven economic development with three main priorities: - Increase the focus and promotion of high-priority economic clusters in each region.
- Increase jobs in higher-wage industries and align talent at all levels to fill these roles.
- Position Florida domestically and internationally as the best place to start a career, build wealth, and raise a family.
An FEDC Foundation supporter, FC 100 is comprised of 150 Florida CEOs committed to promoting economic growth and improving Florida's quality of life. Since 1961, the Council has been charged with providing advice on key policy issues from the private sector's perspective to Florida's elected leaders and government officials across the political and ideological spectrum.
We hope you will read the report in its entirety and join with fellow FEDC members as we examine how this and other data-driven research will influence local and regional economic development strategies. To get involved, email me at BKirkland@FEDConline.org. |
